    ***First - apply for and obtain all 3 of your clearances.

    _____Clearance #1 - Act 114, FBI - Federal Criminal History Clearance or Notarized Volunteer Affidavit.

    • Are you applying for a paid position?
    • Are you attending a school trip that lasts 3 or more days?
    • Have you lived anywhere else, besides the state of Pennsylvania, in the past 10 years?

    If you answered YES to any of these 3 questions, you will need to get your Act 114, FBI - Federal Criminal History Clearance.  Go to this website https://uenroll.identogo.com/  Volunteer's enter - 1KG6Y3, Employee's enter - 1KG6XN.   If you have any questions, please call 1-855-845-7434.  There is a fee to have this clearance done. 

    If you can answer NO to all 3 of these questions, sign the Volunteer Affidavit and have it notarized.

    _____Clearance #2 - Act 151, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance - Go to this website - https://www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis/Public/home - If you have any questions, please call 1-877-371-5422.  This clearance is free for volunteers.

    _____Clearance #3 - Act 34, Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check - https://epatch.state.pa.us/Home.jsp - If you have any questions, please call 1-888-783-7972.  This clearance is free for volunteers.

    ***Next - Create an account with app-garden at - https://appgarden5.app-garden.com/VolTrackPA97502.nsf - click on new registration and follow the instructions.  After your account has been created, you will be able to enter all your information and attach your clearances to app-garden.  A few days after attaching your clearances to app garden, you will receive and email saying if you are approved or denied.

    Thank you for volunteering and remember clearances are only good for 5 years from the date issued, so you will need to update them again when they expire.

    Please note - If your volunteer work involves 10 or more hours per week in direct contact with children, you must be tested for tuberculosis and show documentation that you are free from tuberculosis before serving as a volunteer.  This test can be completed by your family physician or at a qualified clinic (such as those found at some pharmacies) and will be at the volunteer's expense.  TB tests generally take 3-4 days to complete.  Please provide a copy of the documentation from the test facility upon completion of the test.
